GIFTS of the Holy Spirit

GIFTS of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12)

To be Gifted or Not, that is the Question!

Paul talks about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. He mentions to us that to one the Gift of... and another the Gift of... So Christian's often feel lead to think (and have been taught in the church) that gifts are given for certain people but not to all. That is not true! Everyone can have any Gift he chooses! They may not be that good at it, but it is up to them to try to. Well at this point some may not agree with me on that because you have your mind made up already, but look here when Paul says. Covent (seek, desire passionately) the best gifts. Then he talks about Prophesy. Why would someone want to seek after something they can not get? Paul makes it clear here to Go After It! Jesus said "If you ask anything in my name I will give it!"

1 Corithians 12:31 "Covet earnestly the best gifts..." (31)

(To one is given the gift of Healing) Paul reffers to These Gifts as like an Artist (like me) Someone more talented, gifted. Just like Bob Ross can teach anyone to paint, still not everyone will be a Michal Angelo, or DaVinci. Does that make sense? (Just a side note here- If Healing is a Gift that is given to certain people, then why did Jesus commission all of us to go out and heal? See that discredits the idea of not everyone can have these Gifts)

Then He goes on saying the DaVinci's SHOULD NOT say to a Poets... (The foot should not say to the eye I am better then you)
--------------
1 Corinthians 12
14Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. 15If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. 16And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. 17If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

21The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" 22On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
