Sin & Sickness

Sin & Sickness

"Sickness is to our bodies, what sin is to our soul." (Bill Johnson) Do they go hand in hand? I believe it does, but not always.

Sickness, disease, birth defects (etc.) and death only entered the earth After SIN entered the earth by the Sin of Adam and Eve. So it is important to note, they do go hand in hand regardless if they are actually related in anyones body. You yourself are in control of your body, you know if you are sinning. If so repent.

Jesus said "What is easier to say? Your sins are forgiven. OR Get up, take your mat and walk.?"

Let me put it another way for you to understand this... What is easier to you to say? I can lift 1,000 lbs? OR Let me show you I can lift 1,000 lbs, watch this!

Do you see the difference? One has just words, and one has proof of Power.

Why does a mans sin have to do with his healing? I am not totally sure, but we can see evidence of a sure connection in these 2 verses.

John 5:14
Jesus heals an invalid 38 year old man. Later he says "STOP SINNING OR SOMETHING WORSE MAY HAPPEN to you."

James 5:
Is anyone of you sick, He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and to anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in FAITH will make the sick person well. The Lord will raise him up. If HE HAS SINNED he will be forgiven. THEREFORE CONFESS YOUR SINS TO EACH ANOTHER AND PRAY FOR EACH OTHER SO THAT YOU MAY BE HEALED. The prayer of a righteous man is Powerful and Effective.

ON THE OTHER HAND....

John 9:2-9
1. As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth.
2. His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"
 3. "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.
4. As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.
5. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."
 6. Having said this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man's eyes.
7. "Go," he told him, "wash in the Pool of Siloam" (this word means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.
 8. His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, "Isn't this the same man who used to sit and beg?"
9. Some claimed that he was. Others said, "No, he only looks like him." But he himself insisted, "I am the man."

In John 9 we can see that Physical problems are not always the cause from sin. The truth of THIS MATTER was that this man was made this way so that the Power of God can be shown in HIS LIFE. (SO GOD WOULD GET THE GLORY) What can we extract from this? There are a few people who were made this way, just to have the Power of God transform them with a healing touch FROM YOU. We are the vessels that God works through. If we do not get up and act by (trying) to heal them, then these folks may go through life without the transforming Power in them. So who's to blame? God or You? If God has given us the Power and Authority to do so, so that he may be magnified through it, is God to blame? Our ignorance doesn't let you off the leash. "You will find me when you seek me with ALL your Heart!"

If you pity them for their problem and do not lay hands on them and pray with them, and at least try to heal them... You should be the one that pity rests with.

Ignorance is not bliss, it's stupidity. It's happily igoring something you know you should know and do. You were given a brain to think. If you choose to stay ignorant, then that is just dumb. And you are to blame for any short comings, not God.
